Karen Davis Senior Managing Director Washington, DC
Karen Davis serves as Senior Managing Director of the Washington, DC office of Changing Our World, and has more than 15 years experience in nonprofit fundraising. Karen specializes in nonprofit management, development of national campaigns, solicitation strategies, corporate relations, communications and marketing. Karen has successfully directed national capital, major gift and endowment campaigns, conducted feasibility studies and managed development audits for a variety of nonprofit clients.
As counsel, Karen has worked with national and international organizations in the areas of capital/endowment campaigns, major gift fundraising, corporate relations, case development, marketing and communications. Some of the clients have included the American Society of Transplantation, The Actuarial Foundation, the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, the International Council of Nurses, the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Fund and many others. She designed and directed the $50 million capital campaign for the Arizona Memorial Museum Association entitled, the Pearl Harbor Memorial Fund. She also designed and directed the historic first-ever capital campaign for the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus Foundation, The Destination Ahead campaign, which raised in excess of $3.1 million. Karen also designed the campaign for the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, which raised more than $13 million.
During her career she has served as development director for two national associations. Prior to joining Changing Our World, Karen directed the fundraising for the Foundation of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). During her tenure, revenue from the annual giving campaign increased 57 percent and the foundation launched its second capital campaign, Partners for the Future, raising $5.5 million in less than one year. She also had responsibility for managing seven committees and over 75 volunteers.
Karen received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (formerly the National Society of Fund Raising Executives). She lives in Alexandria, Virginia and manages the firm's Washington, DC office.
