Rich Rau

Rich brings more than 20 years of experience in the philanthropic services industry to our firm, where he shares his love of data systems and best practices for personal and group training sessions.  In collaboration with volunteer leadership, development staff, or technical and financial operations; he can design and enhance the fundraising program with logic that produces accurate and measurable variables. Rich is experienced in all facets of fundraising including prospect identification, cultivation, strategic planning and solicitation strategy.

Rich began his career as the first Director of Development at St. Francis Preparatory School, building a development program for the largest non-diocesan Catholic school in the United States.  Since joining Changing Our World in 2002, Rich is credited with leading one of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s most successful capital campaigns – raising more than $22 million for Scranton Preparatory School.  He is also a founding member of the team that created the Catholic Alumni Partnership program, an effort to gain financial support from alumni of Catholic elementary schools throughout the country.

Today, Rich is beginning his 11th year working with the New Jersey Institute of Technology on a $200 million comprehensive campaign, NJIT NEXT; and is beginning his 3rd year constructing the Salvation Army Eastern Territory data system for philanthropic support.

Rich holds a degree in Political Science from Rutgers University.  He resides in Somerset, New Jersey with his wife, Tara, and son, Gavin.  He volunteers his time to the Immaculate Conception fundraising leadership and is an Assistant Golf Coach at Immaculata High School.
