The Athenaeum of Ohio, the center for ecclesial formation sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, forms men and women to faithfully follow Christ and serve His mission by fulfilling their vocations in the Church. In November 2008, following the completion of a feasibility study, Changing Our World began the implementation of a 20-month comprehensive campaign for The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary.
The campaign addressed four key investments: critical capital improvements, strengthening the endowment, growing the annual fund, and increasing funding for vocations and student recruitment. In conjunction with fulfilling these needs, an outreach and marketing effort that expanded across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati was initiated to increase awareness and support.
The campaign entered the public phase in May 2010 and concluded in late 2010 with more than $20 million raised, surpassing its $16 million goal. The success of the campaign helped to ensure the financial stability and future sustainability of The Athenaeum of Ohio. Following this and another successful engagement in 2010, the Athenaeum of Ohio has re-engaged Changing Our World to assess the institution’s current development capabilities for a potential fundraising campaign. This campaign will focus on increasing student enrollment, increasing faculty and administration size, and well as campus expansion.
